She Flies With Her Own Wings

She Flies With Her Own Wings

On June 12th, 2026, I began a new chapter- a chapter I once thought was out of reach. As I signed my name on a stack of paperwork, I smiled to myself as I thought about the 29-year-old girl who arrived at a New York high rise 12 years ago.

Exactly 12 years later, she arrived at a different high rise- one that belonged to her.

I long romanticized my old Manhattan building; not for the apartment itself, but for the promise it held. The promise of independence, beauty, and joy. The excitement of walking out your door to something new, the sound of the city, and the comfort of returning home.

On June 12th, I opened the door of my first home- a home that I purchased on my very own.

I can’t thank the talented and magical Sabrina Hadia Puha enough for bringing my vision to life in this beautiful piece. Not only does she share a name with my New York apartment building, but she moved into her dream Los Angeles apartment the exact same time I moved in here.

When I was in the process of buying this condo, I shared my idea for a piece to bring together both the history of the building and my new chapter. There is so much energy and love put into this piece- the title is "She flies with her own wings," and I’m thrilled she finally made it home. We all did.

Connecting with people near and far over the years has made my journey priceless; and I've discovered it was never about a city, a building, or a person. My journey was about the memories, the imagination, and the wonder that life brings with every twist and turn.

No matter where you go, your home is within- and I'm grateful to be able to fly with my own wings wherever the path leads me.
